Sorry this is so late tonight!
Today was a really good day! Brian was taken off his ventilator and is only on the trach collar with humidified oxygen. So this means he is fully breathing on his own without any support at all from machines. Such a huge step! We also have gotten the go-ahead to start some OT with range of motion on his arms, wrists, fingers, hands, hips, legs, and ankles. I have been shown how to do the movements and am approved to help them perform these, so I now have all my future workouts planned. 😆
He had a lot of eye movement today and did open his eyes for a quick second. This was a very exciting update, but he still has not woken up yet. But man he is so close! His nurse also told me today that when she asked him to keep his mouth open so she could clean his mouth and tongue, he would. She was his nurse a few days ago and also mentioned his is showing improvement. So he is just almost there!
I'll definitely share more updates over the weekend! And hopefully we get to see more of his eyes!
