Well, unfortunately today was not transfer day. ๐ I didn't hear anything today, so I don't have any update on the timing. It is still just a waiting game.
Today physical therapy got Brian up on a tilt table. This is what they can use to allow him to stand up safely. Brian really loved it. After the tilt table he was moved to the wheelchair and speech came by. She worked with him for awhile, both on swallowing (Brian ate some solid food today with peach chunks!) and trying to get him speaking. Today he was uninterested in speaking and did not try for the entire time he was wearing his valve. He did enjoy eating today though and even fed himself using a spoon. Speech mentioned wanting to do a swallow study with him and are potentially going to do one with him tomorrow to make sure he is swallowing correctly and not aspirating at all. If he passes this, he can move on to eating some more solids while he is working with the speech therapists.
In other news, a lot of people have asked about Lincoln and how he is doing. Well today I have a SUPER exciting update to provide. At his school there are special awards the kids can earn that are called positive office referrals. This is for when students go above and beyond and really show their HERD expectations. And today Lincoln got one from his teacher! He also got one from the volunteer who helps out teaching extra math to his class back in December. I was able to talk Lincoln into taking a photo with both of them tonight. So even with everything he is dealing with related to Brian, he is working so hard in school and really doing his best! He's the best kid ever and I'm so incredibly proud of him!
