Brian got outside for a bit today! I walked Brian down to a patio (he rode in a wheel chair because he was feeling lazy this morning) they have just outside the cafeteria to enjoy the weather today! We plan to do this again for a bit tomorrow too since the weather is supposed to stay nice and warm! It was so nice to get outside and for Brian to be able to spend some time outside. It's kinda crazy to think that this was the first time he was outside (other than the short walk from the hospital to ambulance and ambulance to hospital on transport day) since before his accident. 

Today was a great day full of visitors! Brian really loved being able to see everyone and chat with all the new people today! When visitors weren't at the hospital for us, he and I went for a walk around the halls. Brian also got a shower today! Overall, just a nice and relaxing weekend day for him today. Tomorrow should be a lot of the same, and then therapy starts again on Monday! 

For those who remember, I was a bit unsure about this new hospital at first. I have since come around and I do like it here (I mean, it's still no Good Samaritan, but nothing will beat that hospital for me). I just had to just come to terms a bit with the fact that at Good Samaritan we literally got the elite medical staff and the best care possible that a hospital offers since Brian was in the ICU. At the LTAC, it's so much more laid back and relaxed and I would even say hands off. The doc rounds every so often, but doesn't have much for us really since Brian is almost completely done medically speaking (just gotta get that peg out). The nurses are around, but are there just to give meds. The hospital does have someone who is available to watch Brian because of his 1:1, but since I am there and can be there so much (thank you Tolmar!), I basically am his caregiver while we are in this hospital. Which is nice because I have control issues and being able to do whatever I want/need has been real nice. It just took some time to get comfortable here and understand that we will be good if I just do it and take control. That said, leaving when I need to get Lincoln from school and leaving for the night is still very hard.
