 Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Today Brian was pretty tired in the morning but was awake most of the afternoon. He was awake and watching golf and then the beginning of the Super Bowl when Lincoln and I left. He had fallen asleep just before we left.

Today he didn't spend any time in the chair while I was there, but that was because the ICU was a bit chaotic today. They did have his bed very upright today though so that helps when there isn't the staffing ability to get him in the chair. Since he wasn't in the chair today, we did not use the speaking valve today either. They said he needs to be upright to use that, and since I an no expert with it, I didn't want to use it when he was in the bed in an upright position. I will only use it without the speech therapists if Brian is in the chair. 

Today, Brian played catch again with me and also with my dad today! To see him able to throw and catch and to see how great his coordination is is really so cool! I think it is my favorite behavior he has demonstrated so far. Here is a video of Brian and my dad playing catch.

 

The nurses said they heard tomorrow is moving day, but I have not heard from either the LTAC or his case manager to know for sure yet. But hopefully this is promising that it will be tomorrow. But I'm not counting my chickens just yet since we have been misled several times before.
