Sunday 16Feb

Today was kind of our test day for visitors. We were hoping to space some out between yesterday and today, but the weather was crazy yesterday so he only had my mom, who came for a bit to visit and pick up Lincoln when Lincoln got hungry for lunch. But today Brian had a good handful of visitors and he was wiped out by early evening. So because of that, we will keep visitors to the weekends, just so he isn't too tired for therapies during the week.

I also cut Brian's hair today and I was able to help Brian shower. This is the first real shower he has had since the accident so I imagine it felt so good (he did also say it was nice)! He kept making me turn the temperature down during his shower though, we clearly like different shower temps. 😅

In terms of eating, today was better than yesterday. He did not like any of the main courses, but he did like the sides and he loves his magic cup protein ice cream. So for both lunch and dinner tonight, he did not need any tube feed supplemented! I think I said this already, but he is also cleared to take his meds orally. His food goals are to continue to eat his meals (at least 50%) and keep taking his meds orally and that will allow them to remove his peg tube! So we are going to just keep working towards that. A nurse was going to feed Brian lunch today and he looked at them confused and I asked if he would rather me feed him and he said yes. So I'll keep doing that for the lunch. Breakfast I usually miss because they bring that before I get there and dinner may be hit or miss when Lincoln is back in school. Brian also does have some ability to feed himself, but may still need some assistance, so I also need have him start feeding himself and then take over when he gets too tired.

I think that is all for today!
