Sunday 23Feb

Another day today full of visitors!

The day started off with Brian being a grouch. It sounds like he was kinda mean to his sitter because the sitter kept making Brian sit for his safety. Brian is way more stable now on his feet and does not like sitting all day. Understandable of course, he didn't just sit often pre-injury, so he's struggling.

When I got there, I was able to take over (as I do now) and I am more comfortable with Brian being up on his feet, I just have to walk with him. The weather was so gorgeous again today, so Lincoln and I took Brian outside. He was being a bit mean again but I told Brian that if he kept being mean to me I would leave. I think being able to get out of the room was really good for him.

His attention span is incredibly short right now so that also leads to him struggling to just sit for long periods. So today, we walked/rode outside, sat for 5 minutes, walked/rode back to the room, sat for 10 minutes, walked/rode back outside, sat for a few minutes, walked/rode back, sit in the room for 5 minutes, then walked the halls, then went back to the room, then walked back outside, sat for 10 minutes, walked back... it's exhausting.

The short attention span also makes it so he is uninterested in sitting and playing video games or playing cards, or even watching TV. This is very nice for when he has therapy, but can make the weekends a bit harder since he is bored but can't find something to take away the boredom. Luckily, tomorrow is Monday and therapy starts again!

In other news, Lincoln has a basketball game Saturday and he scored 10 baskets! He has such a great game and played so hard. He is now done with basketball and will be starting lacrosse soon (he has tryouts this year since they have so many 3rd graders signed up)! I can't wait for lacrosse to start because I love watching Lincoln play.
