Today Brian had bit of a sleepy day. Occupational therapy walked with Brian all the way to the cafeteria and back. She also helped show Eric and I how to assist Brian when walking. He has also been cleared to walk with the nursing staff. When we got back from the walk, Brian took another little nap. He almost slept through lunch!
The doctor also came by today to look at Brian's trach stoma. It's healing up really well. We are hoping to get the peg removed next week. Today I received an email from the clinical liaison from Craig Hospital. She is going to come and evaluate Brian next week, with the potential that he can transfer next week. This is a super exciting step toward full recovery for Brian! Craig will be the final hospital as part of Brian's recovery and will be provide him with the extensive rehab he needs.
So with the potential of him transferring next week, this weekend will likely be the last time for visitors in the north. I have created a sign up sheet to help with this because I want to make sure I don't forget anyone who wants to visit. Follow this link to sign up if you want to visit him this weekend. Sign up!
As far as visitors at Craig goes, I'm not sure how their visitation policy is, but I will of course update everyone when we know.

Can Brian have any reading material or any games or activities he can do to keep him occupied? Puzzles and such?
ReplyDeleteHe can have all those things, but he doesn't have the attention span for them right now. Even video games, which he loved before, he is uninterested. He likes chatting to anyone who will listen.
DeleteFantastic news about Craig! They are absolutely wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting that he is getting moved to Craig!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you.
