Happy Tuesday!
Brian had a bit of a less busy day today, but it was still pretty packed. He had ADLs this morning/ He got himself ready for the day and also made his bed and folded his laundry this morning!
He then had an appointment with his psychologist. Some of his appointments with her I attend to have a bit of a group discussion, but other appointments he goes to alone so they can chat or she can do some cognitive tests with Brian.
After his neuropsychologist he had manual therapy. She did some needling on his shoulder and chest to help alleviate some of the pain. She also did a few stretches to help out his shoulder mobility.
Then after this he had a co-treat with PT and speech. They had Brian walk around the halls trying to find different places. Brian did very well with this on his floor, so they had him go to the giftshop and check that out. While there he picked out a shirt for me that I am going to wear to the hospital tomorrow. This entire session was to help Brian be able to navigate a bit more on his own so when he is off his 1:1 he can get himself to classes using just his schedule.
After lunch he had some additional OT time. In this session he finished his lego project he had been working on in those and we also played a few card games. He played war for a little with the therapist and then she taught us a game called Black Widow. It is a poker style game that she said a previous patient had taught her. We were only scheduled for 30 minutes but we had a good time in there so we ended up staying for about 45 minutes.
After this session Brian took a little nap and ended his day with TBI power hour which is a group exercise class for the TBI patients on the floor.
Yesterday I had mentioned that Brian was on a tech share due to short staffing. It sounds like that went pretty well after I had to leave which is so great to hear. He was back on a 1:1 today, but that was already scheduled and I think it is better to trial the 1:1 removal before completely taking it away to make sure there isn't a behavior regression.
But all great things which is so exciting!
