This guy got his division license today! This is given to kids who pass all the tests for the specific math skill. Lincoln already received his multiplication last year. The kids have to pass multiplication first in order to move on to division. He told me he is the first kid in all of 3rd grade to get his division license! I am just so proud of this kid! 🤍

Brian's day today was BUSY BUSY. He had therapy starting this morning at 7:00 and it went all the way until 4! He had the big three today and then also had a few extras thrown in too. He met with T. Rec and had a quick session with him and a tour of the T. Rec space. He also had an appointment with assistive technology again with the Aphasia program manager to get his iPad all set up to start using that. The Aphasia program manager is working closely with Brian's speech language pathologist and his psychologist. Both have suggested the use of the iPad to try and help Brian improve those language skills. He seems to understand us really well when we are talking to him, but we are also a bit suspicious that he is really good at interpreting body language and gestures to help him understand and his auditory language skills aren't as strong as they seem. The iPad should help with this because it will allow the use of pictures, words, and speaking to all work together to improve both his understanding and also his communication.

In addition to these additional two appointments he also had a special OT session with a specialized therapist who works with some more advanced techniques to help work on Brian's shoulders. Brian's OT put in a referral for her to see Brian for his shoulders, but PT also wants her to see Brian for his hips. So she started out working with Brian's shoulders and will continue to see him to continue working on various different areas of concern. Today she worked on Brian's shoulders and did some dry needling to help some of those muscles release their tension. Brian's OT was in the session with this specialized therapist in order to get some advice on some additional work she can do to help Brian out too. Then after that session his OT did some cupping on his left arm to help with the scar tissue from that surgery incision.

Now in terms of Brian's behavior (and I do kinda hate putting this on there because it feels like I am telling on him, but it's all part of the healing). He was a bit irritable when I got there today. It was definitely not as significant as yesterday, but still wasn't great. He did however do great in his therapies today and worked really hard. I do think having a bit more of a packed schedule seems to help Brian out a bit during the day too. He seems to be a bit more even throughout the day.
