Weekend 29-30Mar

 Happy weekend!

This weekend Lincoln has his first lacrosse games of the season. He had a double header Saturday and their team won both games (9-2 and 12-2)! The whole team played so well and Lincoln played the entirety of both games in defense. I am so happy lacrosse season is back. I love watching him play and he really loves it. (Ignore the fact that this photo he doesn’t have his cleats on, he noticed and we changed his shoes before the game)

This weekend was a lot of the same as previous ones. We did a lot of relaxing, chatting, walking the halls, and a little bit of stretching in the gym. We have some stretches that both his OT and PT have given us to work on in our free time (which is really only the weekends since we are both so busy on week days) and we worked through some of those today. I also bought some face masks last week since Brian has had some really dry skin just from living in the hospital. We used a couple today. 

This weekend was the first time I have heard Brian laugh since his accident. One of the medications he was on was helping with his irritability and irritation but a significant side effect that we noticed was his entire demeanor was VERY flat. There was kind no emotion at all which is obviously not great. This week his doctors wanted to try to decrease that medication which went very well and he actually stopped it completely as of Thursday. This is a lot of why his personality is really starting to shine through again as well as his brain is continuing to heal. The doctors had to be cautious with removing the medication, of course, to make sure he didn't have any strong irritability since that would obviously not be good.
