Brian started out his day with ADLs where they have started to work on new strategies for Brian to utilize in order to get himself ready in the mornings. Brian and his OT had created some strategies previously to help Brian but they need to be modified again due to his shoulder surgery.
After his ADLs Brian had speech followed immediately by PT. I still have been not attending Brian's speech sessions since I am more of a distraction in those sessions than a helper and there isn't anything that I really need trained on for his speech sessions like I do with OT and PT.
Today in PT Brian got to spend the entire session with a therapy dog to help mimic life at home since we have a dog and she tends to get in the way. The therapy dog today was Timmy and he was so sweet. First Brian walked around the third floor while walking Timmy and answering questions from his therapist. This was to help really test Brian when he is surrounded by distractions and walking at the same time. He is so great! Then after that he did some leg exercises.
Sweet boy Timmy snoozing on the job. 🐶
Then after PT, Brian had lunch break and then got to spend some time in the T-Zone. I know it is going to surprise everyone, but we played Black Widow in that session. I think this time I was the biggest loser in our game.
Something I forgot to mention in yesterday's update is Brian got moved to a regular hospital bed yesterday! He graduated from his safety bed! So exciting and Brian said this morning that his new bed is so comfortable!
