Our first full day at home!
Today was such a nice day. I worked today (which went very well actually) with normal working hours! 👏 Brian did some shoulder stretches, took a shower in his own shower, and he also shaved.
I feel like I was finally able to focus on work today since I wasn't also being partially pulled to be at the hospital. I was also able to get all of Brian's first appointments scheduled for his outpatient therapies! This is such a relief to get this next part set up. Scheduling outpatient may be a bit tough since we are using two different clinics and Brian isn't just available like he was with inpatient. Hopefully we can develop a good routine as we settle in to outpatient life.
Brian was excited to be able to take Lincoln to school and pick him up from school. When we drop Lincoln off we do the "hug and go line" so we don't actually get out of the car, but when we do pick up, we get out and walk to the school. While we were waiting for Lincoln to get out of school we had five different people come up to Brian and say how happy they were to see him and how great he is doing. Brian was very appreciative but when we got home he said it was kinda weird to have people know all about it and talk to him about it. I also understand how that would feel a bit weird, going through this seemingly alone, but also so many people that you know also know about it. (This is definitely not a bad thing, and we do want everyone to come up and talk with us, so I want to make sure this isn't misinterpreted. Still come up and chat if we are around!)
We have fun Friday tomorrow and hopefully we can go out to Gabe's for breakfast, but that means both Brian and Lincoln have to get up earlier than today. 😜 We haven't been able to go to Gabe's since Brian was transferred to Craig so it would be a nice treat to go there in the morning.
