Wednesday 30April

Today we went back to Craig to start outpatient therapy. Brian met with his speech therapist (who might change if we switch to tele-therapy) and his case manager.

His speech therapist just spent some time getting to know Brian and where he is currently. She discussed that one of the first things she will want to do with Brian is determine some goals that they can work towards as part of his speech therapy (and really just healing overall). The meeting with the case manager was very similar and just a get to know you so we have her contact info and have met her in case we need her help with anything moving forward.

One thing Brian mentioned today while talking to his speech therapist how slow it feels being home. It is a bit of a tough adjustment for him being home since it was so busy and packed schedules and now it's a lot of him trying to entertain himself while I work during the day. We have a list of activities that he can do while at home that he created with his OT when he was still inpatient, but the difficulty is none of those are "fun" or things he wants to do. I think as he continues to heal he will have more interest in those activities. I also suggested doing some of these may not be fun, but they would be good for his healing.

Today Brian wanted to walk to the school to pick up Lincoln which was great because it's one mile there and one mile home! So we did a two mile walk today which is great! Unfortunately we got hit by quite a bit of rain on the walk home which I had thought was going to happen, but he still wanted to walk. He did ask our Alexa if it was going to rain and she said not until 5 so he was pretty upset that she was wrong.

Overall, today was a good day and Brian's excited to get back to some therapy!
