Weekend 10-11 May

Happy Mother's Day weekend everyone! Hopefully everyone enjoyed their weekends (I know Mother's Day can be a tough weekend for a lot)!

Saturday we started the day with a very special event! As many of you would know, Brian was an assistant JV coach with Erie High School baseball the past few years and he really loved it. Brian's accident happened the night before the season was going to start. Well the team's last home game was on Saturday and their head coach asked if Brian would want to throw out the first pitch. This was also their senior game and Brian was very excited to be there to celebrate with all the seniors (they had 16 seniors this year, that is CRAZY). Brian got really emotional during his pitch and was so honored to be there. He also really enjoyed being back on the field with his team. He was pretty disappointed that Erie ended up losing that game and now he feels like he was bad luck.

Right after the Erie game, we had to drive all the way down to Highlands Ranch for Lincoln's lacrosse game. This was his first game in their playoffs and it was win or go home. Unfortunately they lost their game too. They played so well and so hard, it was just a difficult game against another great team. They had a really great season and Lincoln is already looking forward to next season.

As for today, it was a pretty low stress day for us. Brian made some breakfast sandwiches for breakfast today with minimal assistance. He didn't think he would be able to do it because of his right arm being in a sling, but it did all the work. I did help cook the eggs (which if you know me, this was my ultimate sign of love because eggs are the grossest and everything about them makes me nauseous). Making this this morning helped Brian gain a bit of confidence that he can make these himself for breakfast. After breakfast he said he wanted to do something that I wanted to do since it was Mother's Day. We decided to go to the bookstore, not for anything in particular, but I do love walking around a bookstore. Both him and Lincoln were great and let me explore as much as I wanted. We came home and watched the Nuggets game (Brian really had a bad weekend watching sports) and then we went to dinner tonight to celebrate Mother's Day.
