Hope everybody had a great weekend! Ours was nice and slow. I am very thankful to Brian for letting Lincoln and I have a slow weekend of just rotting at home essentially. Brian is very much in a mood to do all the things and Lincoln and I really wanted to just spend our days doing nothing other than sitting at home. I was talking to my mom about it on Saturday and it really hit me why we are on opposite sides of the coin with this and it's because the entire time Brian was in the hospital (and also during the week since Brian's been home) Lincoln and I were always going somewhere and never able to just sit at home. When Brian was in the hospital, we were there as much as we possibly could be. At Good Samaritan Lincoln and I would often go 3 times a day (before school, I would go while he was in school, and then also after school). When Brian was at the LTACH, we would go twice a day, and at Craig I would go during the day while Lincoln was at school and we would spend all weekend at the hospitals. Then the first few weekends home we were so busy with lacrosse games and also getting the house back in functioning order since it hadn't been tended to the entire time Brian was in the hospital. So Lincoln and I want to be able to sit at home and just not do anything. Brian however did not experience this the same way we did and now that he is not in the hospital and not doing anything during the days (other than his therapies) he uses up a lot of his capacity for boredom during the weekdays while I'm working. But Brian was the best and agreed to a weekend at home doing nothing and enjoying our boredom. This is great because we have a very busy weekend next weekend so we won't be able to have another boredom weekend.
So not a huge amount to update on for this weekend. We did a lot of relaxing. One thing we watched this weekend that I would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a recommendation is The Quilters on Netflix. It is a super short documentary about a special program at a jail in Missouri where prisoners make quilts for local foster kids and charities. It was phenomenal and only 30 minutes.
I also want to remind everyone about the golf tournament. I am going to continue to post reminders every so often until we get close to the event (or it sells out 😜). So here is the flyer again and website link. Thanks everyone for all the excitement and support for the golf tournament we have already received!
Link to register is on the flyer as well as here: https://the-birdie-initiative.perfectgolfevent.com/
