Today Brian had OT again. At that appointment he did some stretching with both shoulders, some strengthening work on his shoulders and back, a coordination activity, and a quick balance work out. He did really great at all these activities. When we were leaving he said he could feel that she really stretched his right side good and he was so grateful for that.
Then tonight we had Lincoln's first track meet! It was so chaotic. Since we hadn't done one yet, we didn't really know a lot of what to expect. I also didn't do track ever as a kid so this was my first track meet in general. Part of what made it so chaotic also was that Lincoln had 3 of his 4 events all at the same time. We did learn how that works for competing in all the events that are at the same time which is good. Tonight Lincoln tried so hard at his events and did so good! He started the night throwing shot put and the age range of the competition was crazy! Lincoln was the youngest, then there were two middle schoolers, and then one girl in high school, and then about ten adults from 34-80! The coolest part of the whole meet was how nice everyone was and everyone always cheered for each other! Lincoln's best throw tonight was 3.17 m
After shot put he did the high jump since they could squeeze him in before the running event. He unfortunately didn't have any successful jumps tonight and faulted on all three attempts. A lot of that could be attributed to him not having practiced the high jump very much yet.
After his high jump, he did both disc and the 400 m. He was able to get in one throw for the discus and then went over to run the 400 m and then back to finish up his discus throws. In discus he did so great and improved his distance with every throw and his a personal best of 9.5 m. Lincoln was so happy during the discus because everyone was so nice and were all cheering for him in every throw but especially his final throw. In the 400 m he got 3rd in his heat and finished at 1.38. He did say after the 400 that he thought he could have run a bit faster but since this was the first time doing the race at a meet, he didn't want to use too much of his energy too fast.
🤍
Way to go Lincoln!!!
