I know, I'm late with this again, but I was absolutely exhausted after Lincoln's meet this weekend so I decided last night that I was going to sleep and do this this morning.
This weekend we had Lincoln's state track meet. It was in Aurora which meant that we drove an hour each way to watch Lincoln complete for about 30 minutes total for both days. Gotta love track. On Saturday Lincoln ran the 400 m. He came in 12th place overall which is great since this was only his second meet ever. He also shaved 5 seconds off his time from Wednesday. The kids that won ran that 400 m so fast. It was insane to see them running and they absolutely smoked everyone else. On Sunday Lincoln had shot put. He was more excited for shot put than the 400 m I think so he was looking forward to this. He did a pretty good job, but got a little frustrated that the other kids were throwing so much further than him. He now really knows what to work on at practice moving forward. He also seems to like discus more than shot put for right now, but he is too young to compete in the discus at this meet.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing after the meet. We did also have to put the foster puppy back up Sunday afternoon. Before we left to go get her, Brian said he was excited to get her back and Lincoln was pretty excited to get her back too. Looks like I get to be the bad guy with this pup and say no way we are keeping her.
