We had a busy week this past week.
We started out the week with OT as we usually do. In those appointments Brian had been doing work on his shoulder, his balance still, and some functional tasks and starting the return to work process.
Then I had Tuesday and Wednesday off work in order to take Brian to Craig for some driving therapy. Part of their driving program is to spend several hours behind the wheel with a therapist demonstrating that you are safe to return to driving. He was scheduled for 6 hours total split over 2 days. He ended up only needed 4 hours which is great and he did amazing. This was the final step that Brian had to complete in order to have his driver's license reinstated. The only thing left is the DMV has to process the form.
Additionally while we were at Craig, Brian had an appointment with their community reintegration team. Their role is to help Brian get back to work and back to coaching (anything that reintegrated Craig patients back into the community). While there, they evaluated Brian for a lifting test. He had to lift a box of weights to various heights and for a varying number of repetitions.
Friday started with fun Friday breakfast at Gabe's. That night Lincoln had another basketball game and they did so great! Lincoln scored the first basket of the game! And after the game we went to dinner with Lincoln's friends from the team.
We had a great weekend this weekend. We didn't have anything going on Saturday so I spent most of the day baking some bread. I made 5 loaves (I am also bringing bread for Thanksgiving so it won't go to waste). I made 2 plain loaves, a cinnamon loaf that went all wrong (but I baked it anyway because hopefully it will still taste good), a double chocolate and vanilla swirl loaf, and a croissant loaf. I also cut the crap out of my thumb while grating the butter for the croissant loaf so typing this is a bit challenging. Then today (Sunday) Brian had field clean up day with the Erie baseball coaches so we dropped him off at the field in the morning and then Lincoln had a birthday party!
We have a busy week next week since I have a ton of work to do and only 3 working days to get it completed. It also will be challenging due to my thumb injury to type, so hopefully that heals quickly also.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I hope everyone has a peaceful and happy holiday!
